Martha’s Book of Rules

RULE ONE: The Needs of the Organization Come First.

If this were not true, there would not be an organization. Without an organization, we would not have employees. We must operate sustainably to ensure our future.

RULE TWO: You Matter.

Your voice matters at Won’t Stop.. You have a responsibility to use it and there are mechanisms in place to make sure your voice is heard. We know life doesn’t stop when you’re at work, and we have resources to help you in times of need. Take advantage of our provided programs for staff health, engagement, and development. We know that personal growth matters, and we have pathways to help you attain your goals.

RULE THREE: Quality is Our Guiding Principle.

We hold ourselves to high standards to provide the highest quality:

  • Food sourcing and preparation

  • Customer experience

  • Sacred spaces

  • Employee experience

  • Sustainable practices

We don’t compromise. We don’t have cheats. There are no short-cuts.

RULE FOUR: Respect Sacred Spaces.

Our restaurants are sacred spaces and should be treated as such.

Keep them clean; keep them organized; keep them positive and respectful for all who inhabit them.

Sacred spaces have purpose. Sacred spaces have an energy of positivity and possibility. Sacred spaces allow for transformative experiences. Sacred spaces provide safety.

RULE FIVE: Sow Seeds of Content.

The cafes are good karma zones, and you have an obligation to contribute to your work environment in a positive way. Don’t let your personal biases or past experiences hold you back.

We know positivity begets positivity, so spread kindness.

RULE SIX: Feedback is a Gift.

Feedback is critical to our success; give and receive it generously.

We commit to giving feedback in a manner that fosters a positive culture, acknowledges performance, and focuses on development.

We commit to actively seeking feedback from our staff and community to remain a bar-setting organization.

RULE SEVEN: Say Something.

Sacred Spaces are inclusive and safe spaces for all. This means our culture is free of hatred and bigotry. Anyone or anything that demeans a member of any community based on race, religion, gender identification, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity, or ability has no place in a Sacred Space.

Report any behavior that is not in keeping, “up” the chain to your Manager, the operations team, or member of the HR team. You can also always email MSH directly at tellahuman@wontstopinc.com

Hear something? See something? Sense something? It’s your responsibility to Say Something.

RULE EIGHT: Create Value.

When you make a decision about work, ask yourself, “Which choice creates value for our organization? Our people? Our community?” Sustainable practices ensure our ability to exist in the future.

Respect Won’t Stop’s resources (dollars, people, space, etc.). Adhere to our company’s sustainability practices.

Your actions have an impact: Maximize value. Minimize waste. Leave things better than you found them.

RULE NINE: Don’t Make Assumptions.

We work in hospitality; there is rarely a black and white solution to any situation.

Instead of making a blanket assumption about someone’s needs or motives, be curious, ask questions, and consider other viewpoints.

Diverse perspectives are one of our most valuable resources.

RULE TEN: It Won’t Fail Because of Me.

Every choice you make at work impacts our organization and ecosystem; make sure your impact is positive. Create value. Respect Sacred Spaces. Uphold the Book of Rules. Take responsibility for your actions. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or for help.

We believe that everyone possesses untapped potential for greatness.
